 Meet Willie. This little darling was dumped in a dog pound just before the holidays for the unspeakable crime of getting old. His family probably had to make room for that Christmas puppy, so out goes their loyal friend of 15 years. This happens all to often. Well, anyway, we heard about this poor little guy and went and rescued him. He was NOT spending Christmas in a cage!
Well, sweet little Willie is in pretty bad shape. He's at least 15 years old, is mostly deaf and mostly blind, has a grade 5 (out of 6) heart murmor, dry eye and terrible teeth. We're hoping to clear up the infection in his mouth enough to keep him pain free because with a heart murmor that bad it would be too risky to operate on him.
But apparently Willie never got the memo that he is in such bad shape. He is loving his new life. Romping around like a puppy. He has a big sister (a Shepherd mix) and some kitty friends...not to mention a foster mom with a heart as big as Texas who took him in without hesitation. He will live out whatever time he has left in pampered comfort.
Naturally, Willie cannot be adopted, but you can be his virtual family. Willie would appreciate donations to help pay for his vet care. We don't plan on doing any heroics on Willie, we just want to be able to provide him with the care he needs to keep him comfortable and to show him that getting old does not mean you stop being loved.
